The Iglu Student Accommodation is a 594 bed student accommodation building opposite the iconic Queen Victoria market. The project involved the construction of two buildings, one being 10 levels and the other being 24 levels. The accommodation is located in the centre of Melbourne action where students can immense themselves within the arts and culture scene, or simply escape the city and enjoy nearby parklands.

Challenge:

The project scheduling program was important with fast turnaround times required for the 594 bathroom pod construction process, which included six different typologies for this project. A complete tiling system with excellent workability and ease of application was needed.

Solution:

ARDEX were able to offer the complete tiling solution consisting of ARDEX X 17 tile adhesive and ARDEX FSDD grout. The 594 bathroom pods were integrated throughout, and simply installed and connected once they arrive on site ensuring project scheduling was met.
