Head Builder: SKS Group
POD Manufacturer: Pindan Modular
Architect(s)/Consultant(s): ThomsonAdsett
Project details:
The 17-storey Hilton hotel is now the suburb’s tallest and biggest building located in the vibrant precinct of Northbridge, Perth. The hotel’s contemporary and environmentally sustainable design is aimed at a multitude of travellers with features such as restaurants, bars, an executive lounge, and a business centre. The hotel is centrally located with panoramic views of the city skyline whilst incorporating the spirited nightlife.
Challenge:
Due to the bustling location of the site, the project scheduling was of utmost importance. Fast turnaround times were required to limit the disruptions within the area. Over 7,000m2 of waterproofing and tiling were required which included the bathroom pods produced off-site.
Solution:
ARDEX were able to offer the complete waterproofing and tiling solution to ensure project scheduling was met. The ARDEX WPM 155 Rapid Plus waterproofing membrane, ARDEX X 10 tile adhesive and ARDEX FS-DD grout provided the complete waterproofing and tiling system for improved flexibility during the bathroom pods’ transportation to the construction site. Other tiled areas, such as the hotel lobby, also utilised the complete ARDEX tiling system.
Unique Elements:
ARDEX provided the waterproofing and tiling solution, accompanied by market leading service and technical support throughout the entire project. The product performance characteristics met and exceeded all requirements, and the project was completed on schedule.
