ARDEX Expands Southeast Asia Operations with Majority Stake Acquisition

ARDEX Australia majority stake acquisition of

Singaporean QUICSEAL Construction Chemicals

Witten, Germany and Sydney, Australia, 29 March 2012. Building chemicals specialist ARDEX Australia, a leading supplier of high-quality specialty building chemicals, continues to further expand its Asia Pacific reach and current Southeast Asia operations with the majority stake acquisition of QUICSEAL Construction Chemicals, one of the region’s leading suppliers in the waterproofing, concrete repair and tile and stone installation. Whilst active for many years in Singapore through its own company, the acquisition will bolster ARDEX’s strategic position and accelerate the company’s growth in the Southeast Asian and wider Asian region.

QUICSEAL enjoys an excellent reputation in Asia as a specialist supplier of high-quality products and has operations in Singapore and Malaysia. “QUICSEAL gives us access to products which are tailored to the region’s market requirements and have continuously proven their worth,” emphasises Ian Forster, ARDEX Asia Pacific Managing Director, “QUICSEAL also has local development and production capacity which is of immense value to us.”

Jimmy Lim, founder and owner of QUICSEAL, underlines the company’s regional strengths and reach as a key feature for the acquisition; “QUICSEAL system solutions are trusted by customers not only in Singapore and Malaysia but also throughout the rest of Asia – with key markets including Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, South Korea, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei and Sri Lanka.”

ARDEX Australia’s investment in QUICSEAL will make a significant contribution towards expanding the ARDEX Group’s operations in Asia’s growing markets. With its majority stake acquisition in QUICSEAL, ARDEX now owns two businesses in Singapore. ARDEX Singapore has already been a key player in the region for several years. Working together, the two companies will serve the market in parallel, each with its own brand and service profile, yet synergies will be generated in production, sales and purchasing.

Ian Forster, ARDEX’s Asia Pacific Managing Director, is positive about the future of ARDEX in the region stating; “Our high-performance premium offerings win the day, especially when markets are particularly discerning and critical. This is increasingly true of markets with pent-up demand in the construction and infrastructure segments.”
